Duration: 180 hours over 36 weeks

 

Course Overview

NVQ Language Units will improve and increase your skills, knowledge and understanding. The standards of these Units have been developed by the National Centre for Languages (CILT) and will be of potential value in a wide range of occupational areas.

The Units and qualifications are available to you at Levels 2 and 3 and are perfect if you wish to build on your existing skills and knowledge. NVQ courses offer you the opportunity to develop your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. At this level, we will cover grammar in more depth.

Vocabulary is focused on: Travel and Tourism, Business and Marketing, Hospitality, Journalism/Media, Banking, Retail, Engineering, Customer Service and Public Service Organisations. This is an accredited course and you will be required to produce a portfolio of evidence for each course/class/language.

 

Entry Requirements

Prior experience in Arabic is required (eg NLS1) GCSE Grades D to G Certificate of Achievement or basic

conversational skills. If you have completed an aalimah course or part of an aalimah please contact us for an assessment.

Thursday mornings timing to be confirmed at MMTQ from October 2009

 

What to bring to enrolment

If you are not able to pay your fees at enrolment, please do not worry as we will simply invoice you at a later date. You should not let this stop you enrolling.

If your employer is paying your tuition fees, please bring with you a letter of authorisation to confirm payment. This should be on employer letterheaded paper. If you receive any of the benefits outlined you will need to bring up to date proof of benefit, ie if you receive Job Seekers Allowance you must bring a letter stating you are receiving this benefit.

 

Fees To be confirmed

You may not have to pay course fees if you are aged 16 or over, are a UK or EU student and fulfil one of the following criteria:

You are aged 16-18 at 31 August 2009 or

 

You are in receipt of one of the following benefits:

Income Support

Pension Credits Guarantee

Job Seekers Allowance

Housing or Council Tax Benefit

Working Tax Credit (where the total household income is less

than £16,300 per year)

Unwaged dependant (spouse/partner

or child of person in receipt of Working Tax Credit)

Disability Living Allowance

Please bring evidence of any benefit you receive when you come to enrol.
